Covid-19
​Pandemic Precautions

As we prepare to open the museum for the summer season on July 15, 2020,
we want everyone to rest assured that we are doing our utmost
​to ensure that staff, volunteers, visitors, and members
remain safe and healthy

In response to guidelines and orders put forward by the Maine Centers for Control and the office of Governor Janet Mills,
the Sail, Power, and Steam Museum is instituting the following policies and safety standards.

For Those Entering the Building

Our Pledge to You

Maintain physical distancing of
at least 6' between visiting parties
 

one group per exhibition space at any given time

Wear a mask or face covering
at all times once inside the building

disposable masks are available if you have forgotten yours
MASKS MUST COVER NOSE & MOUTH AT ALL TIMES

If you are exhibiting any signs of illness, we ask that you postpone your visit until another day
temperature, coughing, sore throat, aches/pains,
loss of taste or smell

Follow directional signs throughout the museum to facilitate physical distancing
arrows will be placed around the museum to facilitate
​directional tours

​Refrain from touching items in exhibits

Sign in

at least one person from each party will be asked for contact information as requested by the Maine CDC in an effort to facility contact tracing should it become necessary at a later date.

For out-of-state visitors, we thank you for following our state regulations regarding testing and quarantines as it applies to your state of origin
To wipe down and sanitize all public facing surfaces on a regular basis throughout the day
doors, chairs, restrooms, etc.

To wear masks and face coverings
when in the buildings

To have face masks available for visitor use

To provide hand sanitizing stations
throughout the building
